Filezilla

•Using Filezilla, I was able to download a file from the host epel.mirror.freedomvoice.com. The following screen shots show the process of copying a file from the web host "Freedom Voice" and into my hard drive:

 The last screen shot is a result of the open folder on my desktop.

Pixlr.com

Pixlr.com describes itself as a free online image editor. Indeed, this cloud application allows you to create an image or upload an image, whether it's be from your PC or internet, and edit it with its various tools. Pixlr is very similar to the application "Paint" which you find in the Microsoft software packages. Some of the distinct features about this image editor is that is allows you to keep all of your creations online, without the need to store your images onto your hard drive. Instead you have the option of saving it onto your fickr account, pixlr library or even posting it right onto your facebook account . Some of the tools which I thought were unique are found under the "Filter" Tab which allows you to change your image into different shapes and forms. In my case, one of the filters which I enjoyed using the most is named  "Kaleidoscope" which is pictured above.Overall, this is a great, user-friendly, online application!

as seen on the screenshot, my attempt on accessing Fedora was not successful and it wasn't sucessful with Ubuntu. I am not sure if my laptop does not meet the necessary requirements, but hope to make a conclusion by the end of tonight's class.

Leanwagon.com is a beta software which was created with the mission: "to enable tens of millions of people to loose weight and have fun while doing it". Joining Lean Wagon is very simple. Using your e-mail address and password, you are able to access the program. As part of your registration, you must fill out a profile including your height, body weight, gender and body type. Once this is filled, the program automatically generates your goal weight range, which is calculated based on a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) according to your sex and body type. Once you choose your goal weight based on the range, you are directed to a page in which you are introduced to Your Coach with a sypnosis of  his experience with leanwagon.com. In order to continue using the features of the website, you are directed to introduce yourself by stating your location, occupation and year of birth.

The program is easy to use. Lean Wagon has created a weight loss program that is intended to encourage its participants to adopt healthy eating habits, therefore exercising is not emphasized which may be best for individuals who live a busy lifestyle. In order to get started you must not eat simple carbohydrates for six days and take the seventh day as a "break" in which you could indulge in any type of foods. As part of the program you must track your progress on the website daily and discuss your progress with your Plan Coach. You could also read comments from the Member Feeds, and post your own opinions, questions and even new recipe ideas. Overall this website serves as a community support on your journey to weight loss.
